Kabarpendidikan.id The Institute for Community Service
and Empowerment (LPPM) Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof DR. HAMKA (Uhamka) has held a National
Seminar on the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka Research Program with Research-Based Community Service
and Prototypes in collaboration between Uhamka and the Directorate General
of Higher Education, Research and Technology, the Ministry of Education and Culture
in 2021. The
activities were held both offline and online on 27th
and 28th
December 2021 at the Grand Ballroom 10th
floor, Hotel Lorin Sentul, Bogor, West
Java, and also broadcast live via Zoom Meeting and Youtube LPPM Uhamka.
Prof. Dr. Gunawan Suryoputro as the Chancellor of Uhamka in his speech
discussed several important points of Uhamka's vision and mission in the
future, including discussing Uhamka which will become a Prophetic Teaching
University. Gunawan said that according to Kunto Wijoyo, the Prophetic vision had three
important points in it, namely Transcendentalism, Humanism, and Liberation.
"If we talk about Transcendentalism, then it will be
related to Uhamka's ability to produce graduates who are faithful and
pious. Meanwhile, Humanism
and Liberation
are related to the practice of Amar Ma'ruf and Nahi Mungkar,"
said Gunawan.
However,
Uhamka's efforts to build a Prophetic Teaching University still have to go
through several stages going forward. Besides, it requires a long process and
it has quite crucial challenges for the future, added Gunawan.
“As the size in terms of academic education, the accreditation of the institution must be superior, and the study program must be internationally accredited. In the field of research, for the next four years, Uhamka's research publications must be above 500 studies. Then if we refer to the Prophetic measure of BAN-PT, we must have lecturers with a Doctoral degree of as much as 35%. If for the next four years we do not fulfill the criteria, we will fail to become a Research University,” he said.
Therefore, he hopes that from now
on, the lecturers
should be able to implement their research into learning. Not just using as references in their learning process. If it is integrated from the
philosophy of Catur Dharma College of Muhammadiyah, the lecturer will take the theory from a source, then that theory is developed and researched
by lecturers and students, and the results are implemented to the community.
"From now on we have to
integrate with research, teaching according to the lecturers'
specialization, and at the same time the output can be contributed to the
community out there," said Gunawan.
He considers that this grant from
the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology is the beginning of these steps. If
it is related to the implementation of the MBKM program, it will be seen from the teaching
aspect and the service aspect. So, LPPM Uhamka must have many service partners for the home of students to carry out
applications from MBKM programs.
"Therefore, I hope to the MBKM
programs partners can
be a mentor for the future. However, if there are few lecturers and students
who participate in community service, then this is a challenge for LPPM in
developing this issue. Because
I believe that over time, the community service will not be underestimated by lecturers
and students," he said in closing remarks.
